Outsourcing projects get incentives

TWO outsourcing projects totaling P66.3 million, including one by listed firm Paxys, Inc., have qualified for tax perks, the Board of Investments said in a statement yesterday.

The P26.3-million expansion plan of Paxys’ subsidiary Scopeworks Asia, Inc. was granted "non-pioneer status," which will mean up to four year income tax holiday. The investment will be used to acquire additional office space in Makati City. The Paxys unit offers conversion of audio recordings to text documents.

Another firm, Magellan Solutions Outsourcing, Inc. was granted tax perks for its P40-million investment. The capital will be used to put up an 80-seat call center in San Juan City, the statement read.
